About Empowered Services

Empowered Services provides one-on-one in-home and community-based support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our focus is to hire and train Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to help people build independence, maintain routines, and stay connected to their communities in meaningful ways.

Role Overview

We are hiring an entry-level Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide consistent, structured care for individuals of all ages in the Yamhill County area. (No prior DSP experience required – paid training provided.)

This role centers around:

  • Supporting daily routines and household structure
  • Assisting with community-based activities and errands
  • Encouraging independence while maintaining clear expectations
  • Behavioral support
  • Emotional regulation
  • Crisis support

This is a strong fit for someone who is consistent, patient, and confident maintaining boundaries in a supportive way.

Here are some examples of the current customers that are available:
  • Customer 247: Young adult male in Grand Ronde looking for an experienced provider with a medical background for high medical needs and monitoring. Customer is non verbal and uses his eyes to communicate. What the schedule might look like: Sunday 6am-2pm, Tuesday 4pm-2am and Saturday 6am-12pm
  • Customer 476: Teenaged male in Dundee who loves video games. Customer needs assistance with regulating emotions and behaviors. What the schedule might look like: Saturdays all day
  • Customer 469: Adolescent male in Lafayette in need of assistance with emotional regulation and behavior redirection. Loves all things computers and would love someone to share his knowledge with. Schedule is flexible, 13 hours per week any days Sunday-Friday.
  • Customer 358: Young adult female in Dundee who needs assistance with transportation around the community. Does well with cues about hygiene and housekeeping. Schedule is Saturdays and Sundays from 6am-8pm.
  • Customer 193: Adult male in Newberg who needs someone capable of setting strong boundaries. Customer needs assistance with breaking down and processing information. Schedule is Monday through Thursday 9am-4pm.
  • Customer 423: Adult female in McMinnville who needs assistance with daily tasks. Customer has a feeding tube for nutrition and hydration. Needs assistance with pushing her in a wheelchair. Schedule will start with 2 days per week and work into more hours as customer and provider get to know each other.
  • Customer 482: Adolescent female in McMinnville who needs assistance with mobility and daily tasks. Customer would benefit from someone who is patient and can be creative with communication styles. Schedule is Monday through Friday 3pm-7pm
  • Customer 433: Young adult female in Newberg who needs assistance with daily talks and reminders about hygiene. Customer needs supervision while preparing food in the kitchen and assistance with choosing items while grocery shopping. Schedule is Thursdays 1pm-7:30pm
What You’ll Do

Compensation & Benefits
  • $23–$25 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Full-time employees (30+ hours/week) may be eligible for:

Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Current auto insurance (meeting state requirements)
  • Ability to pass a background check (not all records are disqualifying)
  • Comfortable supporting personal care needs
Preferred:
  • Experience in caregiving, DSP, behavioral support, or IDD roles
  • Experience supporting individuals with I/DD
  • Strong communication and boundary-setting skills
  • CPR/First Aid certification
