Job summary

Chimes of Virginia, Inc. is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM in Springfield, VA. The DSP will provide compassionate support to individuals with intellectual and behavioral challenges in a residential setting, following individualized care plans and ensuring safety and dignity.

Role includes medication administration, documentation, and fostering community engagement. Benefits include comprehensive medical plans and paid training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• Experience in disability services is helpful but not required—we provide training.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull 50+ lbs.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving history meeting the stated requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support with kindness and respect according to individualized care plans.
• Assist with personal care including dressing, toileting, hygiene, feeding, bathing, and daily living tasks.
• Document progress and follow care plans for each client.
• Administer medications in accordance with policy and training.
• Maintain a safe, clean, supportive environment for individuals served.
• Encourage community engagement and participation.

What You’ll Do

• Provide hands-on support with kindness and respect
• Assist with personal care including: dressing, toileting, hygiene, feeding, bathing and other daily living skills
• Follow individualized care plans and document progress
• Administer medications in accordance with policy
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment
• Use approved behavior support techniques
• Encourage community engagement and participation
• Some DSP roles will require travel and support from Residential to Day programs

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience in disability services preferred (not required—we train!)
• Ability to lift, push, or pull 50+ lbs.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license - Meet one of the following driving record requirements? At least 3 years of unsuspended driving history with no more than 3 points, or At least 2 years of unsuspended driving history with a clean driving record
