Job summary

Almost Family is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support in clients' homes and in the community. This part-time role offers growth opportunities and the chance to make a meaningful impact on independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities include helping with daily living skills, transportation in your own vehicle, documenting progress, and supporting participation in activities.

Qualifications

• 1+ Years of experience as a DSP, caregiver, behavioral aide, or in-home support provider.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass background clearance.
• Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance (driving is required).
• Ability to use a smartphone or tablet for documentation.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional.

• Provide person-centered support aligned with each individual’s IPP.
• Assist with independent living skills (cooking, cleaning, budgeting, grocery shopping, scheduling, organization).
• Support community participation including social activities, employment supports, appointments, recreation, and volunteering.
• Assist with personal care as authorized (hygiene, grooming, mobility support).
• Follow behavior support and safety plans.
• Accurately complete daily documentation, goal tracking notes, and incident reports.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors and team members.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold client rights at all times.
• Be able to transport the client in your own vehicle (Paid Mileage).

Compensation: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour (DOE) (ability to Increase after 90 Days)

Position Summary

• 1+ Years of experience as a DSP, caregiver, behavioral aide, or in-home support provider
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass background clearance

• Ability to use a smartphone or tablet for documentation
• Reliable, punctual, and professional

Preferred

• Experience as a DSP, caregiver, behavioral aide, or in-home support provider
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Bilingual a plus

• May include evenings, weekends, or holiday shifts depending on client needs
