Job summary

The Arc of Centre County is hiring a Full-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) Generalist to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities in State College & Bellefonte, PA. This role offers a $20/hour base pay, shift differentials, and a $1,200 sign-on bonus.

Schedule is 40 hours/week with flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and sometimes overnights.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to pass required physical and TB screening.
• Able to assist with physical supports including lifting, bending, standing, and transferring as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (cooking, hygiene, routines).
• Administer medications and follow support plans.
• Encourage community participation, recreation, and social activities.
• Provide transportation to appointments and community outings (agency vehicles provided).
• Encourage independence, choice, and personal growth; build meaningful relationships.

Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP) Generalist

Pay: $20/hour + Shift Differentials + $1,200 Sign-On Bonus

Location: Multiple Group Homes in State College or Bellefonte, PA

All Training is Paid (26 hours/year)

Schedule & Pay

• Starting pay: $20 hour
• Up to $1,200 sign-on bonus
• Additional $1/hour for nights, weekends, and holidays

Required Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism (IDD/A)
• Experience in direct care, caregiving, behavioral health, or healthcare
