Job summary

Abound Health in Cranford, NJ is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to help individuals with IDD with daily living, community participation, and behavioral support. You will assist with ADLs, support independence, and work in home, community, and workplace settings.

Starting pay ranges from $23 to $33 per hour, with a $1,000 signing bonus paid in installments; weekly pay, paid onboarding & training, and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Ability to pass background and healthcare registry checks.
• Ability to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support to build independence at home, in the community, and at work.
• Assist with daily living activities such as meals, hygiene, and household tasks.
• Support community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and communication.
• Encourage independence and help develop new skills.
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment.
• Communicate with Abound team members, families and case managers as needed.
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules.

Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). As a DSP, you will assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), community participation, and behavioral support while helping clients live independently. What You’ll Do

As a DSP, you will provide hands‑on support that helps individuals build independence and confidence at home, in the community, and in the workplace. Being a DSP is a rewarding experience – you will genuinely make a difference and contribute to someone’s journey towards a more meaningful life. Responsibilities will include:

• Building positive relationships and supporting individuals in achieving personal goals
• Assisting with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks
• Supporting individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities
• Using adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication
• Encouraging independence and helping individuals develop new skills
• Monitoring health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment
• Communicating with Abound team members, families, and external parties (case managers, etc.) as needed
• Completing documentation and maintaining schedules
• Completing in ongoing training and professional development

Pay & Signing Bonus

Starting Pay: $23/hour for non-acuity; $33/hour for acuity

$1,000 signing bonus paid when averaging 20+ hours/week paid in 3 installments: 90 days ($333), 6 months ($333), and 12 months ($334)

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid driver’s license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary
• Lifting may be required, depending on client needs

Experience working with individuals with disabilities is not required – we provide paid training and support
