Job summary

Horizon House of Illinois Valley, Inc. is seeking Direct Support Professionals to empower people with disabilities in the Illinois Valley region.

You will assist with daily living activities, personal care, meals, budgeting, and social skills, helping participants learn and grow in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Illinois DHS qualifications to become a Direct Support Professional (DSP) are required.
• High School Diploma or GED (no online diplomas accepted).
• Must pass a physical, drug screen and background check (State of Illinois and DCFS).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate agency vehicles.
• Reading comprehension test may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living skills such as personal care, meal prep, budgeting, and social skills.
• Support inclusion and participation in community activities and opportunities.
• Encourage and empower individuals to advocate for their hopes and goals.

• Applicant must meet Illinois DHS qualifications to become a DSP.
