Job summary

The Arc of the Ozarks is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for an individualized supported living program in Missouri. The role focuses on helping a person build skills for independence, participate in the community, and achieve personal goals through daily routines and tailored activities.

Starting pay is $21.00/hour with a fixed 24-hour weekly schedule and a two-week paid orientation. Training and professional development are provided to support growth within the organization.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Patient, dependable, and willing to learn.
• Comfortable working hands-on with individuals and supporting their personal goals.
• Committed to treating the people we support with dignity, respect, and compassion.
• Eligible for a Missouri Class E Drivers License.

Responsibilities

• Teach independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, and personal hygiene.
• Help individuals build confidence and independence through hands-on learning and encouragement.
• Support community participation by visiting local businesses and activities.
• Assist with employment, household, and personal goals.
• Provide medication and behavioral support as required.
• Work as part of a team to plan, communicate, and advocate for individuals supported.

Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Individualized Supported Living$21.00/hour starting pay | 24 hours per week | Fixed weekly schedule
Training note: We require a two-week (paid) training/orientation for the first two weeks of employment--weekdays from 9AM - 5PM.

This is an active, hands-on role for someone who enjoys teaching practical skills, building relationships, solving problems, and helping another person achieve personal goals. You'll provide individualized support with daily routines, household responsibilities, community activities, and personal development.
Your regular schedule:

• Wednesday: 5:00 PM-7:00 PM
• Thursday: 8:00 AM-7:00 PM
• Friday: 8:00 AM-7:00 PM
• Weekend availability is also needed.

Starting pay is $21.00/hour, with additional pay available for relevant experience. Paid training and professional development are provided.

What Does a DSP Do?
You'll work hands-on with individuals to support their everyday lives and personal goals. Your day may include:

• Teaching and supporting independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, and personal hygiene.
• Helping individuals build confidence and independence through hands-on learning and encouragement.
• Getting out into the community- visiting local businesses, participating in activities, exploring new places, and supporting individuals in becoming active, valued members of their communities.
• Supporting employment, household, and personal goals.
• Providing medication and behavioral support as required.
• Working as part of a team to plan, communicate, and advocate for the individuals we support.
