Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Ross Twp, PA

This role offers the opportunity to support young adults and adults with intellectual disabilities in their homes or community settings. You will help clients build life skills, social skills, and support them to live their best life.

One-time $500 sign-on bonus after completing 90 billable days.

Locations:

• Westmoreland County, PA
• Allegheny County, PA
• Washington County, PA

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED (minimum) and 18+ years old
• Year of experience supporting adults or children with intellectual disabilities preferred
• Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) a plus
• Successfully pass background checks and TB screening upon hire
• Valid CPR certification upon hire; if not valid, CPR training will be provided
• Ability to use iPad or other tablet devices for documentation; general knowledge of computer systems, Windows, Google products
• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, proof of car insurance, Pennsylvania vehicle registration, good driving record
• Reliable, clean vehicle (rideshare or public transportation not allowed)

Core Responsibilities:

• Build therapeutic rapport with clients
• Complete necessary documentation and evaluate data; collaborate with team to develop support strategies
• Provide direct support in accordance with individual service plan and ODP guidelines
• Assist clients with activities of daily living, independent living support, building life skills
• Transport clients throughout community using own vehicle; support client to coffee shops, social events, physical exercise, workplace meetings
• Work on skill development, community activities, fine/gross motor skills, leisure/cultural interests, promote health and wellbeing, self‑determination, self‑advocacy
• Engage and safely navigate local community including transportation, developing social connections and relationships, facilitating engagement opportunities, giving back to community
• Steward of ATS mission, vision, values, and beliefs
