Job summary

DABS, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with developmental disabilities in daily tasks, community activities, and skill-building to promote greater independence.

You will document changes in health and behavior, support medication reminders when needed, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide compassionate, person-centered care that respects dignity. This role offers flexible shifts including day, evening, and overnight options, with paid sick leave

Qualifications

• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
• CPR certification and TB test required (we can help obtain).
• Willingness to undergo state and federal fingerprint background check.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily tasks and personal care to support independence.
• Take individuals on community outings and errands.
• Track health and behavior changes to support care plans.
• Assist with medication reminders or administration when needed.

What You'll Do

• Support individuals with everyday activities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, and personal hygiene routines.
• Take individuals on community outings—whether for appointments, errands, or just to enjoy the day.
• Track and document changes in overall health and behavior to support their care.
• Assist with medication reminders or administration when needed.
• Work collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support.

What You Bring

• A caring heart and a commitment to helping others live with dignity and independence.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• A valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and insurance.
• Willingness to undergo a state and federal fingerprint background check.
• CPR Certification and a recent TB test (we can help you obtain both if needed).
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus—but if you bring passion and dedication, we’ll provide the training.
