Job summary

ViaQuest Community Solutions is hiring Direct Support Professionals in the Northwest Indianapolis area. The DSP role offers paid training, a full benefit package for full-time staff, PTO, annual pay increases, and a variety of schedules. Responsibilities include direct care, teaching daily living skills, and maintaining a safe home environment.

No prior experience required as training is provided; opportunities for advancement and employee referral bonuses are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and car insurance.
• Personal, reliable vehicle to transport individuals served.
• Able to push, lift or carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, fostering independence, choice and empowerment while ensuring health and safety.
• Teach and assist individuals in all aspects of daily living.
• Assist with meal preparation and maintain a clean, safe living environment.

At ViaQuest Community Solutions we provide quality support and services to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes. As a DSP, Training for this position is provided in its entirety so no experience is required.

• Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities – our goal is to foster increased independence, choice and empowerment while assuring that their health and safety needs are being met at all times.
• Teaching and assisting individuals in all aspects of his/her life.
• Completing various household tasks including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.

Requirements for this position include:

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED
• Personal, reliable vehicle that you're willing and able to use to transport individuals served.
• Valid (Indiana) driver's license and car insurance. Limited "non-driving" positions available.
• Can push, lift or carry up to 50 lbs. and can climb, balance, kneel and crouch.
• Experience in the field of developmental disabilities or direct care is preferred but not required.
