Job summary

The Arc of Cape May County in South Dennis is seeking full-time Direct Support Professionals to join our Day Program team. You will assist individuals with daily activities, provide emotional support, and help them pursue independence and a higher quality of life.

We offer a Monday–Friday 8am–4pm schedule, competitive pay starting at $16.07 per hour after orientation, and benefits including paid vacation, sick leave, medical and dental coverage, and an employee savings plan.

Qualifications

• Experience with medication administration
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required
• Valid driver's license and good driving record

The Arc of Cape May County, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is seeking full-time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team at our beautiful and fully equipped Day Program in South Dennis. As a DSP, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals with daily activities, providing emotional support, and helping them achieve their goals for independence and quality of life.

Duties

• Provide person-centered supports that respect the rights and choices of each individual
• Assist with activities and community outings
• Assist with daily personal care and hygiene needs
• Support individuals with day program activities
• Administer medications as per physician's orders
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality
• Assist with mobility and lifting when necessary

Skills

• Experience in medication administration
• Ability to work with people with autism and developmental disabilities
• Knowledge of home and community care practices
• Background in social work or related fields
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift and drive as needed
• Proficiency in meal preparation

Joining our team as a DSP offers:

• Competitive pay starting at $21.00 per hour after completion of orientation and training at $16.07 per hour

Qualifications

At least 18 years of age, valid driver's license and a good driving record, High School Diploma or GED. Prior experience assisting individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
