Job summary

Northeast Arc's residential home in Danvers is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in pursuing meaningful, independent lives.

As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide quality supports, help with daily living tasks, community engagement, personal care, and medication administration in accordance with MAP policies, ensuring health and safety at all times.

Qualifications

• MAP certification and CPR/First Aid are required.
• Valid Massachusetts driver's license is required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with transfers and mobility.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and provide physical intervention when necessary.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to person-centered supports.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to meet individuals' clinical, social, and daily living needs.
• Assist with personal care, including bathing, grooming, transferring, and other individualized support needs.
• Support meal preparation, household activities, and recreational opportunities.
• Facilitate meaningful community experiences that encourage skill development, relationship building, and independence.
• Administer medications in accordance with MAP regulations and Northeast Arc policies.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, hospital visits, and community outings as needed.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation, including communication logs, health records, daily data collection, and safety reports.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all individuals served.

The residents at our Collins Street home in Danvers are an active group who enjoy attending local sporting events, going to the movies, and spending time together playing games at home. During the summer months, residents enjoy cookouts and relaxing in the backyard. The home is conveniently located near Liberty Tree Mall, Northshore Mall, and public transportation.

Residents require support with daily living activities, meal preparation, community engagement, and personal care.
