Job summary

Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Cherokee, NC. You will assist with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support to help clients live independently.

The DSP role offers flexible schedules, weekly pay, and paid onboarding and training, with opportunities for advancement and a $1,000 signing bonus where eligible.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal background check, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Lifting may be required, depending on client needs.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals.
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication.
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills.
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment.
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules.
• Complete ongoing training and professional development.

As a DSP, you will assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), community participation, and behavioral support while helping clients live independently. Requirements

Experience working with individuals with disabilities is not required - we provide paid training and support

Pay & Signing Bonus

Starting Pay: $16.00-19.00/hour

$1,000 signing bonus paid in 3 installments when averaging 20+ hours/week
