Job summary

Firefly is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and community settings in Bolivar, MO. You’ll help with daily living, transportation, and social activities, while teaching life skills and supporting ISP goals.

No experience required; we provide free training and ongoing coaching in a supportive environment. Candidates should be reliable, with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and community settings.
• Help individuals access community resources and participate in social activities.
• Provide transportation for appointments, shopping, and community outings.
• Teach independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, and money management.
• Assist with daily living needs, including personal care and hygiene.
• Document client progress, achievements, and milestones.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
• Follow each individual’s ISP.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do in This Position:

• Support adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and community settings
• Help individuals access community resources and participate in social activities

Qualifications

• Ability to pass a background check

Work Environment

• Work primarily in clients’ homes and community settings
• Some travel required
• May involve lifting or moving up to 50 pounds
• Work in a variety of environments, including homes, public spaces, and outdoors
• Must be able to work varying shifts, including weekends
