Job summary

Friendly Connections, Inc. seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist adults with disabilities and seniors in Keansburg, NJ and surrounding areas.

Two positions: 40 hours/week Mon-Fri 10am–6pm and 30 hours/week Mon-Fri 6pm–12am; in-person, hands‑on care including transfers, toileting, dressing, bathing, feeding, and medication. You will work one‑on‑one in the community, helping with life skills, communication, and social engagement, plus job coaching and documentation.

Qualifications

• Must love working with and helping people.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or seniors.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• Reliable personal vehicle and clean driving record (≤4 points).
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in achieving greater independence and community involvement.
• Assist with life skills development, communication, technology use, and social engagement.
• Provide job coaching and employment support when needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and confidentiality standards.

Friendly Connections is seeking compassionate, dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), Caregivers, Community Support Workers, Direct Care Workers, and Disability Support Professionals to help individuals with disabilities and seniors live more independently and participate fully in their communities throughout New Jersey.

There are 2 positions: 1) 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm 2) 30 hours per week Monday to Friday 6 pm to 12am. The individual is loving and sweet and needs full hands‑on care and is in a wheelchair. Daily Activities include repositioning individual throughout the shift, changing adult diapers (gloves provided), helping with toileting, dressing, bathing, feeding, and distributing medication. Lifting is required to help the individual out of a wheelchair and onto a chair, bed, etc.

Experience working with adults with disabilities or as a caregiver is needed as this individual is limited verbally.

Job Requirements

• Must love working with and helping people
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, seniors, dementia patients, or people with special needs preferred
• Experience as a Caregiver, Home Health Aide (HHA), Personal Care Assistant (PCA), Direct Care Worker, Behavioral Health Support Worker, Companion Caregiver, or Direct Support Professional (DSP) is a plus
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Current vehicle insurance
• Reliable personal vehicle
• Driving record with 4 points or fewer
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Ability to comply with all state regulations and agency requirements
• Ability to cooperate with state inspectors and New Jersey Department staff during inspections or investigations
• Other Job duties as assigned
