Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Cranford, NJ is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with developmental disabilities in an Adult Services program. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday with a focus on privacy, safety, and individualized care plans.

Responsibilities include supervision, record-keeping, and implementing care plans, under supervision of the Program Director. Training and collaboration with the Program Team are required to support participant progress.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• NJ State Home Health Aide Certification is required.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or medical challenges is preferred.
• Computer data entry skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain privacy, respect, and confidentiality for participants.
• Provide continuous supervision to all participants.
• Be a participating member of the Program Team.
• Assist in implementing individualized care plans for each participant.
• Maintain accurate required records as directed.
• Implement therapeutic feeding, positioning, splinting, and augmentative communication programs under supervision.
• Provide gastrostomy tube feedings under supervision by the Program Nurse.
• Assist participants in performing self-care activities.
• Document and monitor participants' progress to ensure ISP compliance.
• Assist participants during transportation as directed.
• Attend and participate in conferences and workshops as approved.
• Perform additional related assignments requested by the Program Director or designee.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and able to assist in a two-person lift of a child and/or adult. Must be able to do frequent bending, kneeling and sitting. Must be able to stand for multiple hours at a time.
• May be required to provide direct support services inside a CPL facility or as assigned in a community setting.

Overall Description

Assist participants as directed by the Program Director or designee.
