Job summary

R&M Welty Inc. in Andover, MN is seeking a Direct Support Professional 3 to assist adults living with mental illnesses and support daily living activities with compassion.

You will work on multiple shifts, ensure health and safety, and help implement care plans while documenting services and coordinating with the team.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and able to work with adults living with mental illnesses.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• 2+ years of experience in group home, DSP, or client care roles preferred.
• Must pass DHS background and Motor Vehicle Records check.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with vulnerable adults living with mental illnesses.
• Ensure health, safety, and well-being of the persons served at all times.
• Reflect values of respect, honesty, patience, and compassion in communication.
• Assist with active treatment services, daily living skills, administering medications, and development.
• Assist with transportation, documentation, care plans, and stakeholder interaction.
• Support the Designated Coordinator with scheduling, payroll, documentation review, and delegation.

What You'll Do:

• Work directly with vulnerable adults living with mental illnesses
• Ensure the health,safety, and well-being of the persons served at all times
• Reflect the values of respect for others, honesty, patience, and compassion through your communication and professional relationships
• Assistthe persons served with active treatment services, daily living skills, administering medications, and continued development
• Assist with transportation, documentation of services, implementing and following care plans, and interaction with stakeholders
• Support the Designated Coordinator with tasks such as scheduling, payroll, reviewing documentation, and delegating tasks to other team members as needed

What You’ll Need:

• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to pass a DHS background and Motor Vehicle Records check
• 2+ years of experience in a group home, DSP, or client care role, required
• 2+ years of experience in de-escalation/redirection skills, required
• 1+ years in a lead or supervisory role in a similar setting, required
• Must be physically able to perform all job duties, including lifting, transfers, and emergency interventions
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
