Job summary

Devereux seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work with individuals in a day program, ensuring their safety and health while participating in daily living activities such as meal preparation, cooking, cleaning and shopping. You will supervise, coach, and support individuals to achieve personal goals and document progress.

You will also plan and participate in community-based activities and arrange transportation to and from the day program, contributing to a collaborative, caring

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid non-provisional driver's license required.
• 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Ensure individuals are safe and healthy while attending the day program.
• Supervise, coach, and assist individuals in daily living skills (food prep, cooking, cleaning, shopping).
• Plan, implement, and document programs to meet social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of individuals.
• Plan and participate in community-based jobs, volunteer opportunities, and outings for individuals.
• Schedule and transport individuals to and from the day program.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Devereux, you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. You will ensure our individuals are safe and healthy while attending our day program, supervise and coach them in daily living skills such as food preparation, cooking, cleaning, and shopping, and plan, implement, and document programs designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of our individuals.

Schedule & Salary

Second & Third shift positions available. Salary starts at $20.42 and increases with education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure our individuals are safe and healthy while attending our day program
• Supervise, coach, and assist our individuals in achieving their goals for daily living skills, such as food preparation, cooking, cleaning, and shopping
• Supervise the planning, implementation, and documentation of programs designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of our individuals
• Plan and participate in community-based jobs, volunteer opportunities, and outings for our individuals to be involved with
• Schedule and transport our individuals to and from day program

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
• Valid non‑provisional driver’s license
• 18 years of age or older (required)
• Can attend ten days of paid onsite orientation on weekdays
• Empathetic and has a team approach to caring for our individuals
