Metro Homes Inc. is seeking staff to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in a home-like and office-like setting. Responsibilities include physical, social, and psychological support, and adhering to state and federal regulations.

Employees must complete required trainings, maintain safety, and may accompany individuals on annual vacations. A valid driver's license and ability to communicate in English are required; sign language is a plus.

Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for providing assistance to people we support physically, socially and psychologically and completing required trainings for compliance with State/Federal regulations or standards of service and general quality of service and safety of the people we support in the programs as per the Policy and Procedure of the Agency and the governing agencies. These tasks are complex and required negotiation and communication skills, organizational abilities, advocacy skills and overall business sense. Employees are also required to accompany our persons on vacation annually.WORK LOCATION AND ENVIRONMENT:Home-like and office-like setting with varying degrees of background noise of people we support residing in the home. Hazard may exist if the staff fails to use proper body mechanics in safely transferring and lifting people we support, if vehicles are not operated safely or if proper techniques are not used when intervening with people we support. The possibility of blood-borne pathogens exists if universal precautions are not followed.TRAINING:Individuals must have the ability to complete all training requirement and demonstrate competency with 80% on written/computerized exams.This job description is not supposed to be all inclusive and employees may be requested to perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or other management as well.
