Job summary

Cardinal McCloskey Community Services in New York is seeking Direct Support Professionals to help individuals with developmental disabilities live more independent lives. You will provide hands-on daily living assistance, support with medications, transportation, and personal care, while promoting dignity and independence.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED (or 2 years related experience), a valid NYS driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or 2 years of work experience.
• Valid NYS driver\'s license for two years with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to safely lift and assist up to 70 lbs to support mobility and personal care.
• Experience working with individuals with special needs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support with daily living activities, including hygiene, cooking, housekeeping, and laundry.
• Assist with medication administration, transportation to appointments, and behavioral support as needed.
• Encourage independence and community involvement by supporting individuals in achieving their personal goals.
• Foster a positive, respectful environment that promotes dignity, choice, and inclusion.

Compensation:

• Starting Pay: $17/hour
• With a BA or 3 Years of Experience: $17.50/hour
• Differential Pay Locations: Deveau, St. Theresa, Waterbury, and Locust - potential to earn up to $20/hour
• Additional: $0.75/hour increase after completing all required training
