Job summary

PathPoint is seeking part-time Direct Support Professionals to join the Independent Living Services team in Thousand Oaks, CA. You will help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities learn independent living skills in their homes, such as cooking, budgeting and health routines.

The role offers a part-time schedule (20–25 hours weekly) with shifts that may include weekends. Compensation starts at $23.25 per hour, with a pay range of $22.09-$24.41 and benefits noted for full-time

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Patience, compassion and the ability to interact positively with people with disabilities, their families and professionals.
• Valid California driver's license with a satisfactory record and 5 years of driving experience.

If you have a caring heart and a dedication to helping others, PathPoint may be the place for you! We are currently accepting applications for part-time Direct Support Professionals to join our Independent Living Services team in Thousand Oaks, CA.

In this role, you'll teach independent living skills to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes. This could include cooking and grocery shopping, healthy living and exercise, budgeting and money management, scheduling medical appointments, or other skills depending on the individual's personal goals.

Schedule:

Part-time, 20-25 hours per week, flexible schedule that may include weekends.

Compensation:

This is an hourly, non-exempt position starting at $23.25 per hour. The pay range is $22.09-$24.41, the pay range is subject to change based on a variety of factors.

What We're Looking For:

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Prior experience supporting or instructing individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required; if you are interested in this job but do not have directly relevant experience, we'd still love to hear from you!
• Patience, compassion, and the ability to interact with individuals with disabilities, their family members, social workers, employers, and others in a positive and constructive manner.
• Must have a valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record, 5 years of driving experience, and be eligible for coverage on PathPoint's auto insurance policy.
• Culturally aware, acknowledges diverse employee backgrounds, possesses skills to collaborate across cultures, and avoids biased assumptions based on cultural differences.
