Job summary

REM Community Services in Storm Lake, IA is seeking a Direct Support Professional to empower individuals to reach personal goals and participate in community life. The role offers starting pay of $18.00/hour for full-time hours with on-demand pay and full benefits.

You will foster mentor-like relationships, advocate for participants, and support daily living activities including meal prep and personal care while promoting inclusion and independence in the community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; ability to provide proof.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Vehicle access and valid driver’s license required.
• Successful clearance of background checks.
• Ability to transport individuals with a registered vehicle.

Direct Support Professional

Starting Pay: $18.00/hour | Full-Time | On-Demand Pay | Full Benefits

• Empower individuals to achieve their personal and developmental goals, from budgeting and nutrition to community involvement and recreation.
• Build meaningful connections—become a trusted mentor, advocate, and friend to those you support.

• Champion inclusion: Help people access their communities, attend events, and pursue their favorite activities.
• Support daily living: Assist with meal prep, medication, Personal care, and outings - helping participants enjoy life to the fullest.
• Show your community compassion and Patience: In addition to assisting in general
• Daily Living Skills, some of our exceptional individuals will also need help with personal hygiene. Some individuals may also have behavioral challenges and other complex needs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, and must be able to provide proof
• Vehicle: Access to a registered vehicle with you during all shifts to transport individuals
• Auto Insurance: Must be able to provide proof of insurance
• Driver's License: Valid Driver's license for at least one year without restrictions - cannot accept a learner's permit or intermediate license
• Successful clearance of background checks
