Job summary

3M’s Services LLC is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide personalized, compassionate care to individuals with developmental disabilities. You will assist with daily living activities, meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans, de-escalate challenging behaviors, and encourage participation in social activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; related certifications optional.
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques and applying them effectively.
• Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation to travel to client homes/events.
• Ability to lift and transfer individuals as needed; physically capable.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor; commitment to care.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will be a crucial part of our mission by delivering personalized, compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs. Your role will include:

• Providing direct care : Assist individuals with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
• De-escalation Management : Implement strategies that foster positive behaviors and reduce challenging ones, helping individuals thrive in a safe environment.
• Empowering Participation : Support individuals in engaging in social and recreational activities that enhance their quality of life.
• Collaboration : Work hand-in-hand with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans tailored to each person’s needs.
• Documentation : Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, progress, and goals to ensure individuals receive the best care possible.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; additional certifications or education in social work, nursing, or related fields is a plus.
• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques and the ability to implement them effectively.
• A valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation and insurance to travel to client homes or community events.
• Ability to lift and transfer individuals as needed, and work physically demanding tasks (specific lifting requirements may vary).
• Strong communication skills —both verbal and written—and the ability to connect with individuals from all walks of life.
• A compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor : Your heart should be as strong as your commitment to providing care.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality.
