Job summary

Sunrise Community, Inc. in Florida is hiring a Direct Support professional to provide support, supervision and advocacy for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

You will help people live valued lives in the community, following individualized plans and ensuring safety, health and dignity at all times. The role requires a valid driver’s license with endorsements, background and drug screenings, and at least one year of experience in the human services field.

• Valid driver\'s license with endorsements and at least 3 years driving experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of experience in human services field.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and reports suspected abuse or rights violations.
• Provides support, assistance and supervision to meet individual goals.
• Ensures training, behavior and support plans are followed and documented per regulatory requirements.
• Protects health, safety and wellbeing of individuals at all times.
• Promotes independence and choice and follows positioning schedules and equipment plans.
