Job summary

Arc Human Services in New Kensington, PA is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals in community homes. Responsibilities include personal care, cooking, transportation, medications, and documenting care to help participants gain independence.

Starting at $17.50/hr with weekend differential +$2.50/hr and holiday differential +$5.00/hr when applicable. A sign-on bonus up to $3,500 for full-time hires is offered along with valuable certification pay.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Candidate must pass background checks, physical, TB (company paid).
• DSP certification encouraged; enhanced pay rates apply.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety of participants in a community home setting.
• Provide personal care including cooking, cleaning, transportation, and documentation.
• Assist in developing independent living skills and self-advocacy.
• Support participants to become more independent in homes and communities.
• Dispense medications as required and document care accurately.

Job Description

Direct Support Professional (DSP) ensures the health and safety of program participants by providing varying levels of personal care within a community home setting including cooking, cleaning, transportation, community engagement, dispensing medications, supporting goals, and accurate documentation of care. This position is responsible for assisting in the development of independent living skills, behavior strategies, self-advocacy and prepares participants to become more independent in their homes and communities.

• Experience helpful, but not necessary- Complete PAID training provided
