Job summary

Kaleidoscope ABA in Berkshire County, MA, is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with brain injuries, disabilities, and mental health needs in daily activities, promote community integration, and provide ongoing care.

You will work in home settings, offer personal care, support skill-building, accompany on appointments, and help with budgeting and housing tasks, with a flexible schedule and mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with at least 2 years of community-based experience.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must pass background check, driving record, health screening, and onboarding documentation.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or obtained during onboarding.
• Availability to work at least 4 hours on weekdays; no overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized, one-to-one in-home services.
• Support individuals in activities at home and in the community.
• Assist with shopping, appointments, and outings with transportation.
• Collaborate to implement support plans aligned with goals.
• Aid with housing applications and government programs.

Role Description

This is a part‑time position with availability within the Berkshire County area. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) will assist individuals with brain injuries, disabilities, and mental health conditions in their daily activities, support community integration, and provide ongoing care. Daily responsibilities may include offering personal care and fostering meaningful interpersonal connections.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized, one‑to‑one in‑home services to individual(s).
• Support individuals in everyday activities at home and in the community, helping them build skills and confidence.
• Assist with grocery shopping, doctor’s appointments, and other outings, providing transportation and companionship.
• Collaborate with individuals to implement support strategies that align with their interests and personal goals, including physical activities and community engagement.
• Aid individuals in completing housing applications and accessing government assistance programs.
• Help with monthly budgeting and effective household management for daily necessities.
• Complete and submit accurate daily progress notes to track each individual’s growth and development.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of relevant community‑based experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Access to a personal vehicle suitable for transporting individuals.
• Interpersonal skills and communication abilities.
• The ability to undergo a background check, provide a driving record, complete a health screening, and submit any required onboarding documentation.
• CPR/First Aid certification required, which may be acquired during the onboarding process.
• Availability to work at least 4 hours on weekdays, with flexible hours. No overnight shifts available.
