Job summary

United Cerebral Palsy of Georgia is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional in Macon, GA. The role involves assisting adults with daily tasks such as personal care, meals, transportation, and activities, while promoting independence and growth.

DSPs provide transportation, perform safety inspections, assist with daily living tasks, document progress in Therap, and follow ISP goals. CPR/FA certification and a valid driver’s license are required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides transportation and supervision for individuals as required to meet employment, recreational and leisure activities.
  • Performs inspections of vans and ensures that all training for the safe transport of residents is followed including tie downs and seat belt usage.
  • Performs housekeeping responsibilities including kitchens, bathrooms, windows, bedrooms, and floors.
  • Maintains standards when preparing meals and managing diets per Individual Healthcare plans.
  • Provides personal care support including changing and dressing.
  • Completes documentation and notes using Therap and other programs.
  • Ensures goals are being completed according to each ISP.
  • Conducts evacuation drills and records results.
  • Assists in planning and facilitation of person-centered outings.
  • Completes behavioral tracking logs as required.
  • Follows agency, state and federal laws; uses PolicyStat to access policies.
  • Completes required training using Relias.
  • Manages medical emergencies per health service plan and transports residents to appointments.
  • Identifies and reports maintenance issues.
  • Reports to work promptly and adheres to leave policies.
  • Completes Medication Administration and Proxy training; MAR entries.
  • Tracks vital signs and health information for residents.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs.

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs with or without accommodations.
