Job summary

The Center for Family Support Inc. is seeking Direct Support Professionals in New Jersey, including Lincoln Park, to empower individuals with developmental disabilities.

This role emphasizes compassionate support, protecting rights, and building genuine friendships across diverse schedules, including full-time and part-time positions. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license is preferred depending on program needs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Help the people we support have meaningful lives and listen to their dreams, helping them learn skills to live the lives they choose.
• Involve individuals in activities aligned with their interests, gifts and plans.
• Support individuals to form and maintain positive relationships in their community.
• Respect the rights of the people we support and teach them to speak up for themselves.
• Follow agency procedures for incident reporting and abuse investigations.
• Assist with supervision as described in each person’s service plan and report hazards to a supervisor.

Far too many developmentally disabled individuals are held back by the lack of a solid support system, and as a DSP, you can change that. DSPs should be strong, compassionate individuals dedicated to creating a better world for others, through both full-time and part-time positions available in our programs.

The Center for Family Support (CFS) mission is to provide support and assistance to individuals with developmental and related disabilities. We are the first agency in New Jersey and New York to achieve the Council on Quality and Leadership Certification (CQL). By achieving this certification, it shows our commitment and dedication to creating services that enhance and improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.

• Follow all agency procedures regarding incident reporting and reporting possible abuse. Cooperate with Agency and Division staff during any investigations and inspections.
