Job summary

Responsibilities

• Report repairs; keep safety, egresses and walkways clear of snow/ice.

• Assist transport to activities; may drive company vehicles.
• Complete required trainings and certifications.
• Safeguard individuals’ human rights.
• Follow PBS principles; report up the chain.
• Maintain MAP certification; dispense medications per systems.
• Maintain good oral and written communication with coworkers, individuals, families, and caseworkers.

Job Overview

Direct Support Professional (DSP) assists and supports individuals in carrying out daily routines, activities, and individual programs. The DSP implements clinical, educational, and vocational programs and handles data collection and daily logs.

Responsibilities

• Implement clinical, educational, and vocational programs on a daily basis.
• Assist in carrying out daily tasks and routines, following established schedules and recreational activities.
• Observe and record accurate data per educational plans.
• Read and update daily log; sign off and make entries.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment; follow cleaning schedules.
• Report repair needs; maintain safety, ensuring egresses and walkways are free of snow and ice.
• Attend team meetings and program planning meetings.
• Communicate positively and constructively with team and stakeholders.
• Assist in transport of individuals to activities; may drive company vehicles.
• Complete required trainings and certifications.
• Observe and safeguard individuals’ human rights.
• Follow PBS principles and report on the chain of command.
• Maintain MAP certification; dispense medication as needed following established systems.
• Maintain good oral and written communication skills with coworkers, staff, individuals, families, and caseworkers.

Qualifications
