Job summary

Maxim Healthcare in Apex, NC is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with daily living activities, personal care, and community participation. The role includes helping clients work toward personal goals and maintaining a safe, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• NCI/CPI Training required.
• CPR/FA certification required.
• TB screening and valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Excellent communication and English proficiency.
• Proficiency with mobile devices for documentation.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities and personal hygiene.
• May transport clients to community activities.
• Support individuals in achieving developmental goals and independence.
• Encourage community participation and accompany on outings and social activities.
• Document observations and progress and ensure a safe environment.

Maxim Healthcare is hiring for a Direct Support Professional to provide support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help them achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal prep, and household chores
• May transport clients to and from community activities
• Support individual in achieving their developmental goals and fostering independence
• Encourage community participation and accompany individuals on outings and social activities
• Responsible for documenting observations and progress on specific goals and ensuring a safe environment for client

Requirements

• NCI/CPI Training
• CPR/FA
• High school diploma or GED required
• TB screening
• Active driver’s license
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in the English language required
• Technological proficiency including mobile devices for documentation
• Must be at least 18 years of age
