Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network in Arroyo Grande, CA seeks a Direct Support Professional to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings.

You will implement IPPs, assist with daily living activities including meals and transportation, and advocate for client rights in a compassionate, safety‑driven environment. Background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have at least 1 year of professional or personal caregiving experience.
• Direct Support Professional Certificate Year 1 & Year 2 and CPI preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months.
• First Aid/CPR preferred or willing to obtain within 30 days.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a California Driver’s License.
• Background check required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Outline and prepare daily routines for clients as written in the IPP.
• Support residents' needs and goals by participating in IPP/ISP goal development.
• Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for clients.
• Accompany residents to visit family, leisure activities, and encourage socialization.
• Assist with personal care such as grooming and bathroom needs.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with cleanup.
• Transport clients using company vans as needed.
• Report incidents and communicate daily with administrators.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
