Job summary

New Day My Way, LLC is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist our part-time individuals in Trumbull and Mahoning counties with developmental disabilities, helping them lead independent, integrated lives and advocating for their rights.

You will provide transportation in your own vehicle for community activities, support daily living tasks, personal care, and safety, and assist during outings and appointments to promote health and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Knowledge of medication administration procedures and vital sign monitoring is essential.
• Certification in CPR is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills with clients and their families.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to DODD regulations at all times.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if required.

Responsibilities

• Taking the client out into the community in your vehicle to do fun things or to attend appointments.
• Providing direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to foster independence.
• Supervising, teaching and assisting individuals in all aspects of his/her life.
• Completing various household tasks including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
• Providing personal care assistance which includes all ADL's.
• Bringing a smile to the faces of those you serve after an outing together like the Zoo!
