Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey School Psychologist or School Social Worker certification.
• Experience providing direct counseling, behavioral interventions, and social-emotional support to school-aged children.
• Strong understanding of positive behavioral interventions, social-emotional learning, and evidence-based student support practices.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary support teams.
• Experience implementing behavior intervention plans and working collaboratively with a BCBA is strongly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive, flexible, and student-centered approach to supporting the diverse needs of learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group counseling and targeted social-emotional and behavioral interventions to students.
• Serve as an accessible, responsive resource for students and staff, providing timely support to address students' behavioral, emotional, and social needs throughout the school day.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, families, and CST members to identify students in need of additional support and develop appropriate intervention strategies.
• Partner closely with the District's BCBA to support the implementation, monitoring, and reinforcement of individualized behavioral intervention plans and strategies.
• Provide hands-on coaching, modeling, and professional support to teachers and paraprofessionals to promote consistent and effective implementation of interventions.
• Assist students in developing emotional regulation, coping, problem-solving, self-management, and positive interpersonal skills.
• Provide proactive support and early intervention to help students overcome challenges before they become barriers to learning.
• Participate in problem-solving and student-support meetings, contributing expertise in behavioral and social-emotional development.
• Help foster a positive school climate in which all students feel supported, connected, and equipped to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
