Job Description: Direct Care Worker

The Direct Care Worker assists clients with personal care and daily living tasks in accordance with individualized care plans. This role requires compassion, patience, and a commitment to improving the quality of life for those receiving care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with personal hygiene (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting)
• Help with mobility and transfers (e.g., from bed to wheelchair)
• Prepare and serve meals based on dietary needs
• Administer medication under supervision (if permitted)
• Perform light housekeeping tasks (laundry, dishes, cleaning)
• Monitor and report changes in client’s physical or mental condition
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Accompany clients to appointments or errands, if required
• Follow care plans and document daily activities

• High school diploma or GED (preferred) but not necessary
