Job summary

NeuLife Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated Direct Care Staff member to support individuals with ABI and TBI in our neurological rehabilitation setting. The role involves assisting with daily activities, lifting and transferring clients, documenting care, and collaborating with nursing and medical staff.

Candidates with a CMA or Med Tech certification and CPR/First Aid are preferred. We offer 16-hour shifts, shift differentials, and a supportive interdisciplinary team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with ABI or TBI preferred.
• CMA or Med Tech certification preferred.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to lift, transfer, and assist individuals with mobility limitations.
• Strong observational, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Lift, turn, move, and transport clients as appropriate.
• Assist with baths, grooming, feeding, and toileting.
• Document and chart patient care including vitals and interactions.
• Respond to call lights promptly and address client issues.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude.
• Assist in evacuation of patients and maintain regular attendance.
• Communicate effectively within an interdisciplinary team.

About Us

Neulife Rehabilitation (NLR) provides post-acute rehabilitation and residential services for individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Spinal Cord Injuries, and Neurological Disorders.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Direct Care Staff professional with experience supporting individuals with ABI and TBI injurie that wll care for patients in NeuLife' s neurological rehabilitation setting, under direction of nursing and medical staff, by performing the following duties.

Key Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Lifts, turns, moves, positions, and transports clients as appropriate for their condition
• Assists clients with baths, showers, personal grooming, feeding, and toileting
• Follows NeuLife' s safety policies and procedures when lifting, turning, moving, positioning, or transporting a client or assisting with the client with normal daily activities
• Accurately documents and charts patient care to include vitals and personal interactions
• Respond to call lights promptly. Resolves client issue at time of initial response
• Exhibits excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards clients
• Assists in the evacuation of patients
• Demonstrates dependable, regular attendance. Arrived to work on time and departs as scheduled. "40 hours or until the job is completed".
• Demonstrates ability to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
• Demonstrates ability to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
• Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
• without restrictions
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Bilingual in Spanish a plus
