Job summary

CooperRiis in Asheville, NC seeks Direct Care Residential Support Staff – PRN to build authentic relationships with residents and support engagement, safety, and daily activities. The role requires flexibility across day, evening, night shifts and weekends with three shifts per month on schedule.

Responsibilities include coaching residents toward goals, ensuring health and safety, facilitating activities, and assisting with building upkeep and transportation to appointments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience working with individuals whose lives are impeded by mental illness.
• 21 years or older with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record to be on organization’s auto insurance.

• Provides relationship-oriented coaching and support to residents and attaining their goals
• Assures the health and safety of resident and responds immediately to concerns and completes check-ins
• Participates and encourages participation of residents in recreational, social, and cultural activities
• Facilitates spontaneous social experiences for residents who are not participating in scheduled activities
• Supports residents with room cleaning and helps out in general with the cleaning of common areas of the building
• Transports residents to scheduled appointments as needed
• Is a first responder for on-call services in the evening hours
• Responsible for documentation for assigned residents

Education

Direct Care Residential Support Staff – PRN

Residential Support Staff : Support residents by building authentic, professional relationships, and helping to restore a sense of engagement, productivity, and contribution. RA's work to maintain a safe and supportive environment, assisting with planned activities, supportive check-ins, and additional coverage as needed.

Schedule:

• As need to cover Day, evening and night shifts must be able to cover weekends

Schedule depends on need of department 3 shifts per month.

Salary:$19.00 per hour and increases based on experience
