Job summary

People Incorporated in Taunton, MA seeks compassionate Direct Care Professional - Individual Supports (IS Counselor) to assist adults with developmental disabilities at home. You will implement individualized plans, monitor health and welfare, ensure cleanliness and safety, and support activities of daily living.

You’ll enable community outings, document medications, and help manage finances as part of a dedicated care team.

Qualifications

• Be compassionate and enjoy helping others.
• Qualifying background check and driving record required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with developmental disabilities in their homes.
• Implement Individual Service Plans and ensure health and welfare.
• Assist with daily living activities and housekeeping as needed.
• Provide community outings and encourage use of local resources.
• Administer and document medications as needed.

$20.00 / hour (after one year of benefit eligible employment)

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 12pm-8pm

Individual Supports

Our Individual Support Program is looking for compassionate people to serve as an IS Counselor providing premier services to the individuals in our care.

What does the job entail?

You’ll be supporting adults with developmental disabilities in individuals' home. Individual Support Counselors implements individualized programs as specified in Individual Service Plans, provides for individuals’ health and welfare, and ensures general cleanliness and safety in individuals’ homes.

• Providing Individual community outings


• Encourage rapport with local resources


• Instruct and assist with meal preparation


• Assistance with activities of daily living


• Instruct and physically assist with housekeeping activities


• Medical appointments


• Administer and documentation of medication and/or monitor medical health


• Assist with financial management


• Ensure home is safe

What are Community Outings?

As an Individual Support provider you will provide opportunities for individuals to integrate into the community and enjoy outings that interest them. Examples of some outings are:

• The Movies


• Shopping


• Going to Dinner


• Baseball Game


• Bowling
