Job summary

Devereux in Goleta, California is seeking Direct Care Professionals to support adults with emotional and behavioral needs. You will assist individuals with daily living activities, mentor staff, and participate in community outings. Responsibilities

• Actively assist individuals with their individualized plans for daily living and ensure safety, health, and a clean environment.
• Assist with the planning, implementation, and documentation of programs designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs.
• Plan and participate in community outings, schedule and transport individuals to doctor’s appointments, shopping trips, and day programs.
• Be a mentor to other staff and conduct observations, providing feedback for required trainings.
• Work with individuals who may exhibit challenging and/or aggressive behaviors (paid training upon hire).
• Provide hygiene care (bathing, showering, toileting, etc.).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, education, or other related field, or 12 years of relevant Human Service experience.
• Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional, behavioral disorders, complex PTSD, co‑occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders (preferred).
• Driver’s license required.

Shifts & Compensation

General Shifts: 7 am–3 pm, 3 pm–11 pm, 11 pm–7 am. One weekend shift per week required.

The Day Program shifts are Monday–Friday, 9 am–3 pm.

Starting Pay: $19.25/hr.
