Job description

Job Summary

Responsible for the overall strategic, clinical-operational, and financial leadership of the health system's comprehensive weight management program. Develops and oversees an integrated, multidisciplinary model that provides patients with evidence-based care across the full continuum of weight management, including medical weight management, anti-obesity medication management, lifestyle medicine, nutrition, behavioral health, physical activity, metabolic health, and bariatric surgical services. Responsible for program development, growth, access, clinical integration, operational performance, quality and safety, patient experience, provider productivity, Associate performance, financial sustainability, and regulatory/accreditation readiness. Collaborates with Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Pharmacists, Nurses, Registered Dietitians, Behavioral Health professionals, Exercise and Rehabilitation Specialists, Bariatric Surgeons, Primary Care Providers, Specialty Physicians, Care Management teams, and administrative leaders to establish an integrated and patient-centered model of care. Serve as a key leader in integrating weight management services throughout the health system, creating a seamless pathway between primary care, specialty care, medical weight management, lifestyle medicine, and bariatric surgery.

Work Experience
  • Five years of management experience is required.
  • Strong experience with administrative, ambulatory operations, bariatric, weight management and/or specialty program management is required, preferably in an academic medical center, hospital system, safety-net health system, FQHC, or integrated delivery network.
  • Experience developing and managing multidisciplinary clinical program(s) and healthcare teams, as well as working with physicians, APPs, and clinical leadership.
  • Experience with obesity medicine, lifestyle medicine, and/or metabolic health is preferred. Experience with value-based care, population health, or risk-based contracting is preferred.
  • Experience developing new service lines and community-based specialty programs is preferred.
  • Experience with bariatric program accreditation or certification is preferred.
License/Registration/Certification
  • If a Nurse, current and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas is required.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement certification is preferred.
Education and Training
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field is required.
  • Master degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Nursing, or related field is preferred.
