Overview

The Director of Pharmacy and Admixture Services manages the operational, financial, clinical, and fiduciary performance of pharmacies within the assigned geographic area. The role ensures that all operations and services are conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulatory standards, and supports compliance with the US Oncology Compliance Program.

Compensation: $149,876.80 - $230,579.70 per year, dependent on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Operational Management: Oversight of daily pharmacy and admixture service operations, ensuring efficient workflow and compliance with clinical protocols.
• Financial Oversight: Preparation and management of budgets for retail pharmacy sites and overall pharmacy company; assists sites in clinic budget preparation and monitors performance versus budget.
• Drug Management Program: Development and coordination of drug management for assigned sites; analysis of drug usage data (clinical and retail).
• Reporting: Preparation of reports and responses to physician governing boards, site administrators, and USON regarding clinical and financial status of drug management.
• Recruitment and Training: Support recruitment, hiring, and training of pharmacists and technicians for retail pharmacies and non‑retail oncology infusion sites; coordinate coverage for time‑off work within regions.
• Policy Implementation: Establish and implement policies under direction of Senior Vice President, Regional Operations; monitor quality assurance for clinical and retail activities.
• Best Practices: Identify and disseminate innovative best‑practice standards; assist sites in implementation.
• Compliance: Conduct annual audits of retail pharmacy sites to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Supervision: Oversee Pharmacy Managers and their staff within the assigned area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited pharmacy program; Master’s degree or PharmD preferred.
• Minimum seven years of pharmacy experience, including at least three years in management.
• At least one year of oncology pharmacy experience and three years of pharmacy management experience.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist.

Physical Demands

Requires prolonged sitting, occasional bending and stretching, adequate finger dexterity for keyboarding, and ability to handle repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions. Corrected vision and hearing are required. Rarely lifts or carries items up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

Employee may be exposed to patients and potential toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and chemotherapeutic agents. Significant travel by air or automobile within the geographic area is required (approximately 40%).
