Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering, Maintenance and Grounds operations, ensuring safe, reliable hospital facilities and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

The role oversees safety, clinical engineering and security departments, manages budgets, directs staff and contractors, and drives energy management and building systems performance to support patient care.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of hospital engineering management experience.
  • Experience with HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building trades.
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with CMMS and Building Management Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and control operations of the Engineering, Maintenance and Grounds departments.
  • Ensure all duties of the hospital Safety Officer are performed.
  • Maintain compliance with TJC, CMS, EPA, state/local agencies, OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Manage staff and contractors to ensure safe operation of hospital buildings.
  • Plan, predict, maintain and repair building and equipment; manage energy use and utility operations.
  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets; oversee Clinical Engineering, Safety and Security departments.

Qualifications

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, REGISTRATION: Holds current Certified Healthcare Facility Manager certification or has the ability to obtain within one year. Holds valid driver’s license.

5 years of previous hospital engineering management experience. Previous project management experience. Experience or working knowledge in all aspects of building trades, including HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry.

Intermediate level computer experience. Including Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and Building Management Systems. Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, Joint Commission and CMS standards, OSHA, EPA and state and local codes and standards.

EDUCATION: Minimum of High School Diploma and degree or certification in a technical trade or field related to facility maintenance and engineering. Bachelor’s degree in preferred.
