Position Overview

The Behavioral Health Director is responsible for the overall administration of patient care for the 10‑bed Adult Psych Unit at the CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL. The role involves maintaining the Horizon Health/Client hospital contractual relationships, providing managerial support, supervising nursing and clinical staff, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and accrediting bodies’ regulations.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between the program, hospital and Horizon; communicate information and needs appropriately.
• Support hospital and Horizon missions, goals and objectives.
• Provide leadership and direction in accordance with hospital guidelines and program philosophies.
• Supervise program nursing, counseling, patient support and administrative staff.
• Develop and update all policies and procedures for the program in coordination with the VP, Clinical Practice.
• Ensure the program meets all regulatory requirements.
• Define the philosophy, goals and objectives of the treatment program with hospital administration and clinical staff.
• Work with divisional and national support staff to maximize value from Horizon services.
• Direct departmental staff involved in multidisciplinary teams to address process improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
