Job summary

Sonida Senior Living's Rosemont in Kingwood, TX, is seeking a Culinary Services Director to lead the dining program across independent living, assisted living, and memory care. You will manage staff, uphold high food quality and service standards, coordinate with nursing, and oversee budgeting and inventory.

This role requires a strong culinary leadership background and ServSafe/CDM credentials, with daily cooking responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience as an Executive Chef / Kitchen Manager / Culinary Director in senior living or related settings.
• Official culinary degree or certification as listed, with ServSafe or CDM credentials.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage budgets and staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage the culinary service department, plan activities, and supervise dining staff.
• Maintain food service standards, policies, equipment and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with nursing to meet residents’ needs and ensure quality service.
• Order supplies, control inventory, and manage budgets to meet guidelines.
• Willingness and ability to cook daily in the kitchen.

Culinary Services Director Responsibilities

• Responsible for the management, planning and directing the activities of the culinary service department and managing/supervising dining services staff.
• Responsible for food service standards, policies and procedures, equipment, systems, city and state regulations and work areas while providing the highest quality of food service for Residents.
• Coordinates closely with nursing staff to ensure residents’ needs are constantly being met, as needed.
• Orders all supplies and maintains inventory control. Verify orders received, assuring needed goods are on hand. Ensure that all budgetary guidelines are achieved.
• Must be willing and able to cook daily in the kitchen.

Qualifications

• At least 3-5 years’ experience as an Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager or Culinary Director in restaurants, hotels, SNF, or senior living.
• An associate degree or better in Culinary Arts, Food Science, or Hospitality Management or Certified Executive Chef (CEC, ACF).
• Serve Safe Certification or Certified Dining Manager (CDM).
