Meridian Senior Living in Bay Shore, NY is seeking a Dining Room Supervisor to manage dining room operations, staffing, and sanitation in line with health regulations. You will help create a positive dining experience for residents.

The role requires at least 2 years of relevant experience, compassion for the elderly, strong communication with residents, families, and staff, and formal training in food service management or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Relevant work experience (2+ years preferred).
• Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff and the general public.
• Must be formally trained in food service management or the culinary arts or have equivalent experience in food service management or the culinary arts.
• Must be able to supervise dining services department employees using independent judgment and discretion.
• Must meet all health requirements and pass a criminal background check.
• Ensure work areas are clean, safe and orderly; adhere to infection control, food-borne illness prevention, chemical handling, fire, safety and sanitation procedures.

• Ensure work areas are clean, safe and orderly. Strictly adhere to procedures regarding infection control, food-borne illness prevention, harmful chemical handling, fire, safety and sanitation, promptly addressing any transgression.
• Schedule and reschedule staff using independent judgment and exercising discretion when creating the schedule and making determinations regarding granting employee requests for time off or other modifications in work schedules.
• Responsible for tracking attendance and communicate to Director of Dining Services necessity for disciplinary action where appropriate.
• Perform hosting and serving duties as needed.
