Job summary

Dial Senior Living is seeking a friendly dining assistant to help serve meals and beverages to residents, buss and clean the dining area. You will take orders, assist with the dining experience, and provide attentive customer service in a supportive senior living community.

Ideal candidates are 16 or older, able to read and write English, and willing to learn. Prior food service is a bonus; you will work closely with our team to ensure comfortable, enjoyable meals for residents.

Qualifications

• Must be age 16 or older.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
• Experience in food service preferred.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Serve residents meals and beverages; take orders and assist throughout dining.
• Process orders in the Dial designated POS system.
• Provide friendly customer service to ensure high resident satisfaction.
• Set tables before meals and reset for subsequent meals.
• Inform residents of the daily menu and available options.
• Address residents by name; note food and beverage preferences.
• Prepare beverages and serve drinks to residents.
• Keep water glasses and cups full; monitor cleanliness.
• Clear tables and bus dining area after meals.
• Vacuum dining room floor after meals; maintain a tidy area.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and operation information.
• Report any on-the-job injuries to supervisor promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position Overview

The position will assist with serving meals and beverages, bussing tables and cleaning the dining area.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Serve residents meals, take orders, and assist residents throughout all aspects of the dining experience.
• Take all orders and close out orders within the Dial designated point of sale system.
• Provide customer service to residents to allow high level of resident satisfaction while serving meals.
• Set tables for upcoming meals and reset for the following meal.
• Inform residents what foods are available on the day’s menu.
• Address residents by name and their food beverage likes and dislikes.
• Prepare beverages before meals and serve beverage of choice to each resident.
• Keep water glasses and coffee cups and/or carafes filled.
• Clear tables, as needed, throughout meal and bus tables after the meal is finished.
• Vacuum carpet in the dining room after each meal.
• Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, community operations and personnel.
• Report any on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
• Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience And Other Requirements

• Must be age 16 or older

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language
• Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
• Patience and a customer-focused attitude.
• Operation of basic kitchen appliances or willingness to learn.
• Working 3-3.75 hours per shift standing, walking, and moving about without the need to sit down

• Enjoyment in working with older adults
• Some experience in food service is preferred
