Job summary

Foxdale Village, a life plan community in State College, PA, is hiring a Dining Associate for limited part-time evening shifts (4 PM–7:30 PM, under 20 hours weekly). You will provide friendly service to residents, deliver and serve meals, and assist in dining operations in a health-care setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent (ServeSafe a plus) and the ability to communicate in English.

Qualifications

• HSD or equivalent preferred.
• ServeSafe certification is a plus.
• Experience in dining or food service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous dining service to residents.
• Serve and deliver meals or requested items.
• Register sales and process transactions at the POS as required.
• Portion food according to dietary standards.
• Serve special meals and catered events as needed.
• Assist cooks and prep staff as directed.
• Operate dish machines and other dining-area equipment.
• Set up and break down dining venues for service.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment per policies.
• Sort flatware and glasses as needed.

Foxdale Village, a life plan community guided by Quaker values, is a non‑profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located in State College, PA. Founded in 1985 by members of the State College Friends Meeting, we treat all with dignity and respect. We offer 57 apartments and 148 cottages, with 46 skilled nursing beds for short and long‑term care, 55 personal care beds, and two memory‑care neighborhoods.

We are hiring a Dining Associate to join our team.

Position Details

Limited Part‑Time. Typically working 4 PM–7:30 PM, less than 20 hours per week, with some scheduling flexibility.

Job Duties

• Provide a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service.
• Assist residents, primarily in a health‑care setting, by serving and delivering meals or other requested menu items.
• Register sales on the Point‑of‑Sale System (POS) by scanning items, itemizing, and totaling purchases, and charging residents, staff, visitors, and family members according to department policies.
• Portion food in quantities specified by nutritional standards set by the Registered Dietitian and management.
• Serve special meals and catered events as needed.
• Assist the cooks and line/prep‑cooks as directed by the team leader or management.
• Operate dish machines and all other equipment within the department as required.
• Set up and break down dining venues for service.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations according to department policy.
• Sort flatware and glasses as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• ServeSafe certification is a plus.
• Relevant work experience in dining or food service is preferred.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English with residents and team members.
• Able to work holidays and weekends as part of a schedule rotation.
• Reliable attendance and dependability.
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced work environment.
