Job summary

The Canopy Senior Living in Portland, OR is hiring a Dining Services Assistant to serve elders and guests, take meal orders, and maintain cleanliness in dining areas. This role supports dietary meal preparation and adheres to safety and sanitation standards.

• Ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers who only speak English.
• Pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Serve elders and guests, take meal orders, and clean tables after meals.
• Prepare and serve meals for the dietary department safely and appetizingly.
• Clean the kitchen, wash dishes, and return food to proper storage.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Work within a team environment and follow infection control and sanitation procedures.

What You’ll Do

The Dining Assistantserves elders and guests, takes orders for meals, and cleans tables after meals.Prepares and serves meals for the dietary department in a safe and appetizing method in compliance with dietary standards, policy, and procedures. Cleans the kitchen, washes dishes, and returns food to proper storage.

As a Dining Services Assistant, you can expect a range of responsibilities and tasks. Here are some general expectations:

• You will provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• You will bring a willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
• You will strictly adhere to procedures regarding infection control, food-borne illness prevention, harmful chemical handling, fire, safety, and sanitation.
• You will see that appropriate snacks are available to elders with special dietary needs.
