Responsibilities

  • Verify equipment is calibrated and in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Support continuous improvement of inspection processes and quality standards.

Setnix, a Setna iO company, is an FAA- and EASA-certified repair station delivering high-quality maintenance, repair, and overhaul solutions for the aviation and aerospace industry. Based in Tempe, Arizona, Setnix specializes in APU and main engine teardown, inspection, testing, repair, overhaul, and certification of high demand rotables and aircraft components.

As a Dimensional Inspector, you'll play an important role in ensuring APU and Main Engine components, parts, and assemblies meet required dimensional, mechanical, and quality standards. This position requires someone who is highly detail-oriented, comfortable working with precision measuring equipment, and able to accurately interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and approved maintenance data. Accuracy is extremely important in this role. Your inspections and documentation help ensure components meet company, customer, manufacturer, and FAA requirements before moving forward in the repair or production process.

Requirements
What You'll Do
  • Perform detailed dimensional and mechanical inspections of APU and main engine components and assemblies.
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, fits, clearances, and other specified characteristics using calibrated equipment, including calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, CMMs, optical comparators, and other precision tools.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, repair instructions, and approved maintenance data to confirm inspection requirements.
  • Record inspection results, findings, and dispositions accurately and in accordance with quality system requirements.
  • Identify, document, and control nonconforming materials, parts, or conditions in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform all inspections in compliance with the Repair Station Quality Control Manual, FAA regulations, customer requirements, and industry standards.
  • Confirm inspection equipment is in good working condition and properly calibrated before use.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve dimensional and technical discrepancies.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to inspection processes, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations, repair station operations, and aviation quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in the use of precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on documentation accuracy and quality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to accurately identify and document dimensional or technical discrepancies.
  • Ability to work effectively with production, engineering, and quality personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate inspection records.
  • Ability to follow established procedures, quality requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Experience inspecting aerospace, turbine engine, or aircraft components is preferred.
Physical Requirements.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for 3-7 hours during the workday.
  • Ability to frequently walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements as required by the position.
  • Ability to push and pull materials, equipment, or components as needed.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle tools, equipment, and parts throughout the workday.
  • Ability to perform job duties safely in a shop/manufacturing environment.
