Position SummaryThe Frac Tech supports Qwik Pipe's water transfer operations on frac locations. This hands-on field role lays and picks up layflat hose, sets and runs pumps, generators and other equipment, and watches operations to keep water moving safely and efficiently. Frac Techs work as part of a crew in all weather conditions, communicate constantly with coworkers on location, and follow strict safety and PPE procedures to keep themselves, their crew and the job site safe.Key ResponsibilitiesHose & Equipment OperationsLay and pick up layflat hose at job locationsSet, run and service pumps of all sizes, generators and other essential equipmentWatch machine operations, including gauges and pumps, and adjust controls to maintain required conditionsLoading & TransportLoad and unload layflat hose, field materials and equipment onto trailers and trucksDrive trucks and other vehicles to move equipment and personnel and to perform job tasksTools & Field WorkUse common hand and power tools such as impact drills, saws, wrenches and other small toolsHelp with containment and spill cleanup as neededSafety & CommunicationFollow all safety procedures and wear the proper PPE for each job taskCommunicate clearly with other workers by cell phone, radio or hand signalsAttend and complete OSHA, DOT and safety training as neededRequiredAt least 1 year of oilfield, frac or water transfer field experienceValid driver's license [and acceptable driving record]Must pass a background check and pre-employment screeningWilling to work outdoors in all weather conditions and on location for extended shiftsAble to follow safety procedures and wear required PPEGood communication skills and able to work as part of a crewPreferredExperience running pumps, generators or similar field equipmentCurrent OSHA or other safety certificationsPhysical Requirements & Working ConditionsRegularly lift, carry, push and pull up to [50] lbs.Stand, walk, bend, kneel and climb for long periods on uneven groundWork outdoors in heat, cold, rain, dust and noiseLong or rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays, as job needs require [adjust to your schedule]This job description is not a complete list of the activities or responsibilities required for this position.
