Buchanan Group Inc. is seeking a Landscape Designer – Funeral Center Grounds to design, enhance, and maintain welcoming landscapes across our funeral centers and properties. This role blends landscape design, horticulture, and grounds management to ensure safe, dignified environments that reflect our care for families and communities.

The ideal candidate has plant knowledge and project coordination skills, with experience managing multiple properties and vendors in a professional outdoor setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of professional landscape design or grounds management experience.
• Experience coordinating landscape projects and outside contractors.
• Proficient with CAD, GIS or similar software.
• Knowledge of plant selection, soil, irrigation, and maintenance.
• ISA Arborist certification or pesticide applicator certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain landscape plans for funeral centers and other company properties.
• Evaluate landscapes and recommend improvements, renovations and long-term beautification projects.
• Select appropriate plant and tree species based on site conditions and maintenance needs.
• Oversee grounds standards including mowing, pruning, mulching, irrigation, and weed control.
• Coordinate landscape contractors to ensure quality, safety, and timely completion.
• Maintain landscape and tree-care records and assist with budgeting and planning.
• Travel between company properties to inspect conditions and manage projects.
